TIMELINE
2 months
↑ 25% Revenue
↑ 30% Registration
Context
GrowthSchool had over 2 million learners, yet most users only interacted with the one course they initially signed up for.
Despite having a wide catalog of mentor-led programs, the LMS lacked any system to surface other relevant courses organically. Users had no idea what else they could learn next — and the business was missing a huge upsell opportunity.
Opportunity
How might we introduce a non-intrusive discovery flow that encourages exploration without disrupting the learning experience?
Needed to drive revenue and course registrations
But had to respect the learner’s focus and journey
Goal: Make “what’s next for me” feel natural, not pushy
Solution – Contextual Nudges
We designed a Product-Led Growth system built right into the LMS — woven into natural learner moments:
Discovery Points
Dashboard Nudge → Light call-to-action when a user logs in
Post-Milestone Nudge → Triggered after key course completions
Course Completion Flow → Positioned as “What’s next for you?”
Explore Entry Point Design
Designed a prominent entry point for course discovery, leveraging hero banners to highlight trending programs.
Course Overview Interaction
Introduced a quick-glance modal for key course details, reducing friction in decision-making.
Dashboard Nudge for Course Discovery
Embedded a smart nudge in the dashboard to recommend next programs based on progress and mentor fit.
Program Detail Slideout View
Final design choice: right-side slideout balancing info depth with in-context interaction.
In-Course Suggestions (Library Page)
Strategically placed course suggestions during content consumption to improve cross-sell potential.
Nudge Card – UX Elements Breakdown
Micro copy and visual nudges were optimized using trust signals, scarcity, and clear CTAs.
Program Card Info Structure
Refined information hierarchy within course cards to highlight mentor credibility and category relevance.
Final Layout Spec for Hero Card
Finalized visual and spacing spec for hero cards to ensure consistency across breakpoints.
Structure of the Explore Page

Results
↑ 5,000+ course applications (+30%)
Learners spent more time in-platform and reported greater awareness of program variety
Reflections
Balancing revenue goals with a seamless UX was the hardest part — we resisted the urge to over-promote, and instead designed subtle, smart nudges that guided rather than pushed.
This wasn’t a feature. It was a mindset shift — treating discovery as a core part of the learner journey, not an afterthought.
